The First Ever, Royal Baby Shower!

Never has a member of the royal family had a baby shower. However we all know Kate isn't your typical foyal family member. Kate was born a commoner, and she will not be missing out on the commoner tradition of a baby shower. Kate's sister, Pippa (the party planner extraordinaire) is very busy as we speak planning a party for her new niece/nephew.  The party color is yellow (gender neutral of course) and the party cake is to be made by Kate's brother James. The whole Middleton clan is said to be present at the shower. The Shower is rumored to be held at the Middleton home in,Berkshire.

Kate is starting a new royal tradition by having a shower, and bringing a new modern outlook to the royal family. "Kate is a modern girl, and she wants a normal life"(Sound familiar? Does it remind you of the late Princess  Diana?)

The invitations and guest list are being kept secret and it is rumored that the party guest will receive gifts from The White Company and Jo Malone.

I can't wait to see this beatuiful celebration!
In the mean time, I have to get ready to cover the Coronation Ball that is happening tomorrow!
See you then!

Garden Party, Royal Nursery & Living with the Middletons, Oh my!

Its been a few weeks since I updated you on the wonderful world of Kate Mid.
Last week Kate made an unexpected appearance at the Royal Garden Party. The duchess wore a canary yellow dress coat by Emilia Wickstead, and a cream  fascinator ( lets not forget her signature nude heels.) If you didn't know already yellow is the color for summer( at least according to all the fashion mags.) Kate looked elegant and as always ahead of the trend.

The Royal Nursery:
Kate is rumored to be decorating the future heir's room with antique toys and furniture. I didn't think it was possible for me love Kate more, however this news makes me adore her royal highness even more. When I have my own place, I plan on having vintage furniture and antique toys. (I have already started collecting these items for the apartment I don't have.) This room is going to be adorable, I am hoping the room has a 50s/60s feel.Kate's love of vintage is just another reason why Kate and I are destined to be best friends.

Living with the Middletons
As a of Tuesday, there is a rumor going around that Kate is moving back in with her parents after the baby is born. I like the idea of Kate resting away from the public at her parents home. I also completely understand wanting to live near/with your parents after your baby is born (especially since Wills isn't always around.) And lets be real here people, it's not like the Middleton's house is small! They are millionaires after all. I am all for Kate living at home, and not in the palace for a little while. It is also rumored that Kate & Wills will not have a nanny. (maybe if they meet me they will change their minds!)

The Royal Due Date

Apparently HRH Kate has announced that her baby is due July 13th ( as I predicted back in December, she was due late June early July.) I can't wait to see this beautiful baby. I love babies (who doesn't?) Babies are a reminder that miracles happen everyday. They bring new hope and pure joy. This wonderful royal baby will not only be the best dressed baby in town, but will probably we one of the kindest. Kate & William are known for being giving, kind, thoughtful individuals and I wouldn't expect any less from their offspring.  I keep thinking it would be so sweet for the new baby to be born on July, 1st the late Princess Diana's birthday. (she would have been 52 this summer) How wonderful would that be? I guess it's all up to God about when this precious little gem will be born, until then I will be trying to figure out how to be this baby's nanny...Haha, but seriously, how does one score such an awesome job? I can see it now, I will be their darling, American nanny who ends up marrying Prince Harry and becomes best friends with Kate... A girl can dream right? Whatever the case this baby has already brought so much excitement and joy to world and it isn't even born yet. It's nice to know the world can get excited about the birth of baby!

The Lessons I learned from "The Office."

With the upcoming last episode of the office upon us, I thought it was only fair that I pay tribute to a show that impacted my life. People often make fun of me, because of my emotional attachment to fictional characters, but I find this trait about myself one of my best qualities. I love being caught up in a love story that seems unbreakable, making new friends by bonding over a tv show, quoting your favorite lines with your friends in your own everyday life, but my most favorite thing is growing alongside the characters and how a rerun of your favorite show can bring you back to a different time in your life.

The Office began when  I was a 14 year old freshman about begin high school I was still mourning the loss the of "Friends" and looking for a new T.V. Show to help fill that void.. It seems almost poetic to me how the 9 years of the office ends as I am graduating college. Who would have thought a half hour show once a week could enrich your life in so many ways? I loved growing up alongside the characters of the office, and I am forever thankful for the real life friendships that blossomed because  of this show.

When I was 17 my friends and I started watching the office together, we held "office parties" every thursday at 9pm. We put staplers in jello, made Schrute bucks, drank grape soda and even dressed like the characters sometimes.I looked forward to my Thursdays with my friend. The waiting patiently for Pam & Jim to get together, remember the fun run? Remember how Pam and Jim kissed? Sharing those moments not only with the characters but with your friends live, is a such a treasure.

When I was 19, Pam & Jim got married  I watched the show with college friends and I cried of pure joy. Jim's speech about "waiting for his wife..." so beautiful. Pam ripping her veil and Jim cutting his tie to make her feel better? The part where they run away together to get married on the maid of the midst? That episode is flawless. think I have watched it 11 times now, and I cry every time. My favorite thing about "Jam" is that they are ordinary people, who work in a office. They are just like you and me, but the magic between them is anything but ordinary. They represent real love that happens everyday. The show depicts their struggles, sacrifices, and success as a couple and it makes them all the more enchanting.

Now I am 23, just graduated college two weeks ago, I am at yet another transition in my life, just like I was 9 years ago. I am not sure where my life is going. but I do know that the office has enriched my life in so many ways, and I am forever grateful. I am so thankful for the comfort, laughter, tears of joy and sadness, I shared with the characters and fans of the office.

I will leave you with some of lesson the office taught me over the last 9 years.

Royal Baby Names

An Article came out yesterday that then name Elizabeth Diana Carole is top name for baby Windsor. It's seems that a lot of the world is convinced that Kate & Wills are having a girl. I won't lie I am wanting a little girl more than a little boy... because who doesn't love a little princess. I am sure however, no matter the gender of this baby it will be a cute one. Wills looks just like his mother Diana and Kate is a pretty lady too.
As your Royal Baby correspondent I have been thinking long and hard about baby names. And the three names predicted were on my list, among several others.

Little royal lady...

Elizabeth: An obvious classic choice, named after several Elizabeths. The queen, Kate's middle name is Elizabeth and Kate's mother Carole middle name is also Elizabeth.

Diana: I am sure, if the royal baby is a girl the name Diana will be incorporated somehow. I am not sure they would give the baby the first name Diana, for one I am not sure how the Royal Family would feel Diana wasn't exactly their favorite... but it's also a huge responsibility to carry that name. Diana is one of the most beloved women not only in England but around the world. Giving a baby that name seems like a lot of pressure. However it wouldn't surprise if it was a a middle name. I could see them even calling her by her middle name. Maybe little D or Di.

Philippa: I love the name Philippa. Kate's best friend (although I wish it was me) is her sister  Philippa  or "Pippa" as we like to call her. Phillip is the name of William's grandfather so this name has two meanings behind it. Philippa wouldn't be a first name.

Carole: The name of Kate's mum! It won't be a fist name but It could easily be one of the middle names.

Victoria: A classic English name. the Windsors come from a long line of Victorias. It's a pretty name and also a family name (i.e.Queen Victoria)

Charlotte: Charlotte (along with Vivian) is one of my favorite names! I could see Kate & William using this name... Since William's dads name is Charles and Pippa's middle name is Charlotte... I hope they don't use it... I liked it first.

Now for prince names,

Spencer: I can't imagine Spencer being a first name, but to honor William's mother and her side of the family I could see Spencer being in the child's name somewhere.

Henry: William's best friend is his mischievous ( and handsome ) brother Harry. Again I don't see this name as first name but is definitely a possibility! ( I also think Henrietta could be a fun a name for a little girl...)

Arthur : One of Williams middle names and popular family name. (not a huge fan of this name)

William: I wouldn't be surprised if William named his son William or had it as a middle name. Its a great name with lots of nicknames available.

Charles: Not just after Prince Charles, but after Diana's brother, William's uncle Charles.

Those are my predictions, but then again who really has any idea. We won't know the name of the baby until it arrives and I sure I will be waiting by tv with a bowl of popcorn and a glass of champagne!

We're happy free confused and lonely at the same time

Whether or not you like Taylor Swift, you just can't deny that the  lyrics to her song 22 are perfect for the 20 something age group. It references all of the "miserable & magical" things that you feel when you're in your 20s.

"Where happy free confused and lonely at the same time"
YES, To all of the above. I am at the this huge crossroad in my life and I have no idea where my life is taking me. I am graduating from college at the end of APRIL. Yes, this April I will officially be a college graduate.(Wait...What?)
I have been in school since I was 4(if you count preschool) 18 years of school! I know how to do school, school means routine and structure. However, when April rolls around I will no longer be in school. What I am suppose to do with the rest of my life? Where I am suppose to go?How am going to find a job? Where is my husband? All these questions and more are constantly running through my mind.

I am not the only one in this limbo land of 20 somethings. Some of my friends are getting married, others are married and some are having babies. I don't fit into any of those categories! so where does that put me!? I fall in to this miserable and magical world of single-hood. I can literally go wherever the wind takes me. I have no one to report to and no one to hold me back. I can be spontaneous, go on an adventure and not have to worry about another person. I AM FREE. but with freedom often comes those moments of sadness. I begin to think,Why am I not married? Why doesn't anyone love me? Is there something wrong with me? And then I think, Do I even want any of those things right now? I would really like to have a successful job before I get married and I would like to move before I meet someone. So when I reason with myself I realize, I need to celebrate my 20 something life style. Someday I will think back to my 20 something life and think,Why didn't I live more in the moment?

So here's to hanging out with girlfriends, staying up late, game nights, drinking coffee, unplanned adventures, tv marathons, long walks, margaritas, reading on the beach, going to concerts, snowy days, cozy sweaters,DIY projects, and dressing like Kate Mid.

Embrace your 20s, celebrate you and live a little.

Galentines Day

I realize this is a bit later than I anticipated, but the thought of skipping a post devoted to the women I hold nearest and dearest just wouldn't do. Last month a very serious woman love fest was held in the name of Galentines Day! The idea was stolen from the one and only, Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation. It's traditionally the day before Valentines Day that gal pals gather to celebrate being a woman and being a friend.

Our Galentines Day was held at the fantastic and delicious Beezy's Cafe in Ypsilanti, MI. We all grabbed breakfast and exchanged silly, heartfelt gifts and cards while chatting about life, love, and other outrageously inappropriate topics. After the meal was exchanged, a few of us kept the love fest going with a viewing of Warm Bodies.

The day was perfect. I am so unbelievably in love with the women in my life. My sisters, mom, friends, mentors..... They're such a blessing it is ridiculous! I truly am surrounded by the most incredible support system and I am so thankful. Honestly have NO IDEA what I would do without you!! In case you missed the Instagram flood, here are some highlights. Wish I had space for more!

Xoxo, Hannah
